Thread: 15th B'day Party - Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down!

Default 15th B'day Party - Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down!

    Thumbs Up
    • Great Music
    • The best DJs
    • A full bouncing club

    Thumbs Down
    • No set times posted - so could not choose who to listen to
    • No chill out area - it's great to have a full club but over full with no where to take 5 is not good
    • The VIP area - we have always been one club, all equal, and now we seem to have 2 classes for Passion followers - it stops everyone enjoying the balcony view and the rest of us felt a bit like herded cattle particularly with no chill out area - not really Passion's style

    Time for a rethink?

Totally agree with all your points.

Really wasn't a fan of the whole of the upstairs in the main room being vip, and having to pay £5 (third of the ticket price!) just to get the set times was a bit of a joke.

Still had an awesome night though.

Making the upstairs balcony VIP was a major fail in my opinion.

I'm all for VIP areas, but to close off such a large (and popular) area of the club was a big mistake. Everyone was crowded in like sardines downstairs, and if you weren't in the middle of the dance floor you were getting getting jostled about by people milling around. There was nowhere to find your own space, which put a major downer on the night for me.

I retreated to the Red Room on a number of occasions, were the atmosphere was a lot less hectic. The only problem was that the music was far too quiet in there. I don't expect ear drum bursting volumes, but when you can stand and have a conversation without having to raise your voice you know something is wrong.

My final gripe was not posting any set times. Passion have always posted set times in the past, and it's not unreasonable to expect this. I understand why it was done, but forcing people to buy £5 lanyards was a pretty cheap stunt.

All in all it was an average Passion exerience for me. I've had much better nights there. It had the potential to be an amazing night, but a number of minor niggles spoilt it for me. I'm all for trying new things, e.g VIP and lanyards, but when they are at the expense of regular clubbers, they've gone too far.

Having said that, all the djs were awesome. Greg Downey and Sied van Reil were highlights for me.

top nite, did see set times somewhere but think they got swiped early on!!! vip is still experimental i know and get your points, tho my friend who's 40th it was loved it as it made her feel really special, but agree lack of seats about is a problem, the smoking ban is the start of that with everyone having to go outside!! COME ON PASSION!! great nite, great tunes, great friends, no1 club!!! axxx

If set the times were posted but got nicked then fair enough. Apologies for the rant! (It maybe worth considering framing them and screwing them to the walls in future?)

Was a good night, despite how my previous post reads.

The VIP area was a good idea, but the lack of a chill out area for everyone else was a bit of a downer.

Maybe next time they could use the far end of the balcony (near the big Passion sign) for the VIP area. The VIP area could be cordoned off at the narrow bit, where the balcony goes round the corner. That would be ideal.

I was vip on NYE and I would go vip every time ,as I will be for the 24th April even at £50 each If I pay top price for vip I expect nice area free from all the hustle and bustle
    of the normal area

My only problem with the VIP area as it is at the min I think it needs its own toilets and smoking area I was told this would be on the roof is this being sorted out before the 24th April

As for the vip being moved to the far end above the storm sign i would say this would be a bad move, were it is at the min its just about right to sit and talk and relax if that is what u want to do

i had the same thought about chiil out along the balcony n vip under the big sign, but the smoking ban really makes what ever the guys decide a quandry as we all know EVERYONE has to go outside now9sorry repeating myself), did wonder if the white room could have more seats n be chill out like the old days with the sofa's?? had also thought of a roof terrace but cost, planning, neighbours etc and of course we aint in ibiza - would probably be prohibitive - but can you imagine??? lets all keep an open mind n appreciate that owners, admin n promotors are always trying to make our experience a top one watever the nite
